1.. _code_of_conduct: 2 3Contributor Covenant Code of Conduct 4++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ 5 6Our Pledge 7========== 8 9In the interest of fostering an open and welcoming environment, we as 10contributors and maintainers pledge to making participation in our project and 11our community a harassment-free experience for everyone, regardless of age, body 12size, disability, ethnicity, sex characteristics, gender identity and 13expression, level of experience, education, socio-economic status, nationality, 14personal appearance, race, religion, or sexual identity and orientation. 15 16Our Standards 17============= 18 19Examples of behavior that contributes to creating a positive environment 20include: 21 22* Using welcoming and inclusive language 23* Being respectful of differing viewpoints and experiences 24* Gracefully accepting constructive criticism 25* Focusing on what is best for the community 26* Showing empathy towards other community members 27 28 29Examples of unacceptable behavior by participants include: 30 31* The use of sexualized language or imagery and unwelcome sexual attention or 32 advances 33* Trolling, insulting/derogatory comments, and personal or political attacks 34* Public or private harassment 35* Publishing others’ private information, such as a physical or electronic 36 address, without explicit permission 37* Other conduct which could reasonably be considered inappropriate in a 38 professional setting 39 40 41Our Responsibilities 42==================== 43 44Maintainers are responsible for clarifying the standards of acceptable behavior 45and are expected to take appropriate and fair corrective action in response to 46any instances of unacceptable behavior. 47 48Maintainers have the right and responsibility to remove, edit, or reject 49comments, commits, code, wiki edits, issues, and other contributions that are 50not aligned to this Code of Conduct, or to ban temporarily or permanently any 51contributor for other behaviors that they deem inappropriate, threatening, 52offensive, or harmful. 53 54Scope 55===== 56 57This Code of Conduct applies both within project spaces and in public spaces 58when an individual is representing the project or its community. Examples of 59representing a project or community include using an official project e-mail 60address, posting via an official social media account, or acting as an appointed 61representative at an online or offline event. Representation of a project may be 62further defined and clarified by project maintainers. 63 64Enforcement 65=========== 66 67Instances of abusive, harassing, or otherwise unacceptable behavior may be 68reported by contacting the Code of Conduct Committee at 69<conduct@kernel.org>. All complaints will be reviewed and investigated 70and will result in a response that is deemed necessary and appropriate 71to the circumstances.
