* net: Add support for filtering neigh dump by master deviceDavid Ahern2015-09-291-0/+1
| | | | | | | | | | | Add support for filtering neighbor dumps by master device by adding the NDA_MASTER attribute to the dump request. A new netlink flag, NLM_F_DUMP_FILTERED, is added to indicate the kernel supports the request and output is filtered as requested. * netlink: add NETLINK_CAP_ACK socket optionChristophe Ricard2015-08-281-0/+1
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | Since commit c05cdb1b864f ("netlink: allow large data transfers from user-space"), the kernel may fail to allocate the necessary room for the acknowledgment message back to userspace. This patch introduces a new socket option that trims off the payload of the original netlink message. The netlink message header is still included, so the user can guess from the sequence number what is the message that has triggered the acknowledgment. * netlink: add API to retrieve all group membershipsDavid Herrmann2015-06-211-8/+9
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | This patch adds getsockopt(SOL_NETLINK, NETLINK_LIST_MEMBERSHIPS) to retrieve all groups a socket is a member of. Currently, we have to use getsockname() and look at the nl.nl_groups bitmask. However, this mask is limited to 32 groups. Hence, similar to NETLINK_ADD_MEMBERSHIP and NETLINK_DROP_MEMBERSHIP, this adds a separate sockopt to manager higher groups IDs than 32. This new NETLINK_LIST_MEMBERSHIPS option takes a pointer to __u32 and the size of the array. The array is filled with the full membership-set of the socket, and the required array size is returned in optlen. Hence, user-space can retry with a properly sized array in case it was too small. * netlink: allow to listen "all" netnsNicolas Dichtel2015-05-091-0/+1
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | More accurately, listen all netns that have a nsid assigned into the netns where the netlink socket is opened. For this purpose, a netlink socket option is added: NETLINK_LISTEN_ALL_NSID. When this option is set on a netlink socket, this socket will receive netlink notifications from all netns that have a nsid assigned into the netns where the socket has been opened. The nsid is sent to userland via an anscillary data. With this patch, a daemon needs only one socket to listen many netns. This is useful when the number of netns is high. Because 0 is a valid value for a nsid, the field nsid_is_set indicates if the field nsid is valid or not. skb->cb is initialized to 0 on skb allocation, thus we are sure that we will never send a nsid 0 by error to the userland. * netlink: mmaped netlink: ring setupPatrick McHardy2013-04-191-0/+32
| | | | | | | | | Add support for mmap'ed RX and TX ring setup and teardown based on the af_packet.c code. The following patches will use this to add the real mmap'ed receive and transmit functionality. Signed-off-by: Patrick McHardy <kaber@trash.net> Signed-off-by: David S. Miller <davem@davemloft.net>
* netlink: remove duplicated NLMSG_ALIGNHong zhi guo2013-03-261-1/+1
| | | | | | | | | | | NLMSG_HDRLEN is already aligned value. It's for directly reference without extra alignment. The redundant alignment here may confuse the API users.
