* Documentation: Fix index.rst after psci.rst renamingMarc Zyngier2022-05-041-1/+1
| | | | | | | | | Fix the TOC in index.rst after psci.rst has been renamed to hypercalls.rst. Signed-off-by: Marc Zyngier <maz@kernel.org> Reported-by: Stephen Rothwell <sfr@canb.auug.org.au> Link: https://lore.kernel.org/r/20220504205627.18f46380@canb.auug.org.au
* Docs: KVM: Add doc for the bitmap firmware registersRaghavendra Rao Ananta2022-05-031-17/+78
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | Add the documentation for the bitmap firmware registers in hypercalls.rst and api.rst. This includes the details for KVM_REG_ARM_STD_BMAP, KVM_REG_ARM_STD_HYP_BMAP, and KVM_REG_ARM_VENDOR_HYP_BMAP registers. Since the document is growing to carry other hypercall related information, make necessary adjustments to present the document in a generic sense, rather than being PSCI focused. * Docs: KVM: Rename psci.rst to hypercalls.rstRaghavendra Rao Ananta2022-05-031-0/+0
| | | | | | | | | | | | | Since the doc also covers general hypercalls' details, rather than just PSCI, and the fact that the bitmap firmware registers' details will be added to this doc, rename the file to a more appropriate name- hypercalls.rst. * KVM: arm64: Fix Function ID typo for PTP_KVM serviceZenghui Yu2021-04-201-2/+2
| | | | | | | | | | Per include/linux/arm-smccc.h, the Function ID of PTP_KVM service is defined as ARM_SMCCC_VENDOR_HYP_KVM_PTP_FUNC_ID. Fix the typo in documentation to keep the git grep consistent. * KVM: arm64: Fix table format for PTP documentationMarc Zyngier2021-04-081-11/+11
| | | | | | | | | | The documentation build legitimately screams about the PTP documentation table being misformated. Fix it by adjusting the table width guides. Reported-by: Stephen Rothwell <sfr@canb.auug.org.au> Signed-off-by: Marc Zyngier <maz@kernel.org>
* KVM: arm64: Add support for the KVM PTP serviceJianyong Wu2021-04-072-0/+26
| | | | | | | | | | | | Implement the hypervisor side of the KVM PTP interface. The service offers wall time and cycle count from host to guest. The caller must specify whether they want the host's view of either the virtual or physical counter. * KVM: arm64: Document PV-time interfaceSteven Price2019-10-211-0/+80
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | Introduce a paravirtualization interface for KVM/arm64 based on the "Arm Paravirtualized Time for Arm-Base Systems" specification DEN 0057A. This only adds the details about "Stolen Time" as the details of "Live Physical Time" have not been fully agreed. User space can specify a reserved area of memory for the guest and inform KVM to populate the memory with information on time that the host kernel has stolen from the guest. A hypercall interface is provided for the guest to interrogate the hypervisor's support for this interface and the location of the shared memory structures. * Documentation: move Documentation/virtual to Documentation/virtChristoph Hellwig2019-07-242-0/+114
Renaming docs seems to be en vogue at the moment, so fix on of the grossly misnamed directories. We usually never use "virtual" as a shortcut for virtualization in the kernel, but always virt, as seen in the virt/ top-level directory. Fix up the documentation to match that.
