* nds32: Remove the architectureAlan Kao2022-03-071-79/+0
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | The nds32 architecture, also known as AndeStar V3, is a custom 32-bit RISC target designed by Andes Technologies. Support was added to the kernel in 2016 as the replacement RISC-V based V5 processors were already announced, and maintained by (current or former) Andes employees. As explained by Alan Kao, new customers are now all using RISC-V, and all known nds32 users are already on longterm stable kernels provided by Andes, with no development work going into mainline support any more. While the port is still in a reasonably good shape, it only gets worse over time without active maintainers, so it seems best to remove it before it becomes unusable. As always, if it turns out that there are mainline users after all, and they volunteer to maintain the port in the future, the removal can be reverted. * arch: vdso: add vdso linker script to 'targets' instead of extra-yMasahiro Yamada2020-09-071-1/+1
| | | | | | | | | The vdso linker script is preprocessed on demand. Adding it to 'targets' is enough to include the .cmd file. Signed-off-by: Masahiro Yamada <masahiroy@kernel.org> Acked-by: Catalin Marinas <catalin.marinas@arm.com> Acked-by: Greentime Hu <green.hu@gmail.com>

* nds32: vdso: drop unnecessary cc-ldoptionNick Desaulniers2019-05-071-4/+2
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | Towards the goal of removing cc-ldoption, it seems that --hash-style= was added to binutils 2.17.50.0.2 in 2006. The minimal required version of binutils for the kernel according to Documentation/process/changes.rst is 2.20. * nds32: vdso: fix and clean-up MakefileMasahiro Yamada2019-05-071-5/+3
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | - $(call if_changed,...) must have FORCE as a prerequisite - vdso.lds is a generated file, so it should be prefixed with $(obj)/ instead of $(src)/. - cmd_vdsosym is a one-liner rule, so the assignment with '=' is simpler. * nds32: VDSO supportGreentime Hu2018-02-221-0/+82
This patch adds VDSO support. The VDSO code is currently used for sys_rt_sigreturn() and optimised gettimeofday() (using the SoC timer counter). Signed-off-by: Vincent Chen <vincentc@andestech.com> Signed-off-by: Greentime Hu <greentime@andestech.com> Acked-by: Arnd Bergmann <arnd@arndb.de>
